After an Aug. 20 house fire, on Broadview Place in Fort Collins, injured several college-age men and killed one dog, PFA teamed up with the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery to produce a 360-degree virtual tour of the home.

The video is an immersive medium through which we can literally show people fire’s fast-moving and broad-reaching impacts. It  illustrates numerous fire-safety educational messages, including:

  • The importance of closing your door before you sleep. Even hollow-core door's have been proven to protect people from fire. Learn more about "Close Before you Doze" from our partners at Underwriters Laboratory's Firefighter Research Institute.
  • The importance of having at least two fire- and building-code approved ways to escape every room in your home.
  • How to safely use a fire pit and extinguish a fire.

  • "Get out and stay out." In the event of a fire, get out as quickly as you can.     Don't go back inside for anything – not even your valuables or pets.
The video – accessible via mobile and desktop devices – is featured at PFA fire- and life-safety talks and events throughout the year.
