Want to see the inside of a fire station or have Poudre Fire Authority (PFA) attend your not-for-profit event? Review the guidelines below to request a fire station tour or to invite PFA to an upcoming event.

Tours offer a behind-the-scenes learning experience for community groups, school field trips, or those interested in the fire service as a career. Visitors will see how the firefighters live, respond, and train in the fire house.

Tours and event requests must be submitted at least two weeks in advance. Crew availability depends on training schedules and other commitments.

Station Tour Guidelines

  • Tours are 30 minutes.
  • Tour participants must be at least 4 years old.
  • Tours are available M-F from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Weekend or after-hours tours are available on a case-by-case basis.
  • Fire crews may need to end a tour prematurely, start a tour late, or cancel entirely in order to respond to an emergency. We will do our best to reschedule if this happens.
  • Tour groups should be no more than 15 people (children and chaperones combined) due to the capacity of stations.
  • Groups with children must provide an adequate number of chaperones (at least one chaperone per four children).
  • No outside food or drink are allowed in the stations (sorry, but this includes birthday cake).

Firefighter Crew & Engine Visit Guidelines

  • Firefighters are not available to respond to birthday or parade requests for individual or Neighborhoods.
  • Crews remain on duty and can stay at a community event for a maximum of two hours.
  • Firefighters may need to respond to an emergency at any moment, so they require safe and clear egress and ingress.
  • PFA crews are available to attend not-for-profit community events.
  • The PFA Outreach and Education booth/tent is staffed by people in both civilian (non-sworn) and firefighter (on-the-line) positions
  • The PFA Outreach and Education booth/tent offers a variety of SWAG and information about the many safety courses and resources we offer. Learn more about the classes and programs the team will discuss during your event here.
