Fire Station Open House for Fire Prevention Month

Annual Event on the First Saturday of October

Join us at the annual Fire Station Open House on Saturday, October 4, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Poudre Fire Authority Station 3 next to Spring Park! 

This year’s event helps kick off Fire Prevention Month with fire engine tours, station tours, and meet-and-greet opportunities with your local firefighters. 

Learn about fire prevention in your home and participate in fun, kid-friendly activities – there is something for everyone. 

There will be trivia, SWAG, drawings and good old community camaraderie—plus, we’ll share important safety info to help keep your home fire-ready!

2025 Fire Prevention Week Poster Contest

Win a Ride to School on a Fire Engine

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Students must be in kindergarten through 5th grade.
  • Poster must feature the 2025 Fire Prevention Week theme (above).
  • Posters MUST include the artist’s name, grade, teacher submitting the poster, and school on the back of poster.
  • Posters can be made on any size of paper (no digital submissions).

HOW TO SUBMIT

  • OPTION 1: Bring posters to your school’s front desk by Friday, Oct. 31, 2025
    • Email education@poudre-fire.org to let us know you are participating and we will pick-up posters at the front desk on Monday, Nov. 3.
  • OPTION 2: Deliver posters to Poudre Fire Authority (PFA) Headquarters at 102 Remington St. Fort Collins, CO by Friday, Oct. 31, 2025.

PRIZE & WINNER DETAILS

  • There is one winner from each grade. The winner will be picked up at their home by a fire engine and firefighters for a ride to school.
  • Winning posters will be printed as posters and displayed at PFA Headquarters and shared on social media. Original posters will be returned to the artists.
  • Teachers win too! The teacher of the winning student will receive a $100 Amazon gift card as a thank you for helping make the contest possible.
  • Winners will be announced on Friday, Nov. 21, 2025.
