Beginning Thursday, March 5, 2026, the Poudre Valley Fire Protection District (PVFPD) will distribute a community survey via text message regarding a potential ballot initiative.

PVFPD is part of the governing body and helps to fund Poudre Fire Authority (PFA). PVFPD has two members on the PFA Board. The District is the area outside of Fort Collins city limits that makes up PFA’s jurisdiction. If you live within the District and are a registered voter, you may receive the survey through text. See the map of PFA's jurisdiction which shows the boundaries of both the District and Fort Collins. 

The survey is an official outreach effort authorized by PVFPD and administered in coordination with a professional polling firm.  The purpose of the survey is to gather community feedback about a potential ballot initiative to help inform future planning and decision-making. The survey will NOT request payment, financial information, or other sensitive personal data. 

If you receive a text message inviting you to participate, please know that it is legitimate. Your response will be anonymous and confidential.

Participation is voluntary. Recipients may opt out at any time by replying “STOP.”
